Remarks & Notes

The prototype Viewliner Diner freshly prepared for display on National Train Day at Grand Central Terminal. The 8400's shell was one of the last built by the Budd Company in the 1980s before they closed forever. Its interior has changed over the years, outfitted by Amtrak forces at Beech Grove with a major upgrade. This car has been running mostly on the Lake Shore Limited and is a taste of what's to come with the Viewliner IIs.
