The missing link
Named the “Crescent Cab”, these wide nose cabs were developed with crew safety in mind and built for the SD60E rebuild program began by NS in 2010. The Cro-Magnon looking design offers crashworthy protection for the crew inside while also continuing the Southern Railway tradition of using very unique and distinctive looking locomotives just as they did with the high-hoods.
