Remarks & Notes

It sure would be nice for this rotary to see some action before winter is through. Our last major snowfall a week and a half ago brought it out of Northtown to Willmar in anticipation of plowing west toward South Dakota. The railroad managed to keep everything open with their snow dozer and spreader, though, so for now the 972551 continues to sit on the sidelines. I have a feeling that since I found it on the roundhouse lead tracks that it may be waiting to move back east to Minneapolis, so I guess this shot is better than nothing. The last time I saw this rotary was in nearly the same spot two years ago, keeping company with sister plow 972554. The 972551 had been towed back to Willmar after its fan blades were ripped off and blown out of the chute while plowing the Watertown Sub. What a difference some paint makes!
