Opened by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway in June 1946 the station at Prince, West Virginia proudly served the surrounding region as a gateway to the C&O’s passenger trains of the era. Fast forward almost 67 years and the station still stands but today serves the tri-weekly Amtrak Cardinal. The station’s interior still shows many of its historic features giving a glimpse of its former life and owner. On this day, though, Amtrak train 50 slows for its quick station stop before continuing east to Washington, DC and eventually New York.
