Union Pacific #844 coasts downgrade through Andover, CA. The train is bound for Sparks, NV for the night. Andover is both a historic site and a scenic wonder for photography, situated just up the east slope of Donner Pass from the old railroad town of Truckee, CA. Most of this scene has not changed since the 1920's when SP added a second track over Donner Pass, except of course the locomotive which dates from 1944.
