The Pioneer era has begun on the former Wabash Fifth District. Along with one of their own GP20's, Pioneer has brought in two NS GP38AC's to work the east end of the former Maumee & Western until more of their own power arrives. Here, the ND&W crew shoves three cars for Johns Manville through the yard using the leased NS 4154. Although it may seem a bit out of place, it's entirely possible that this engine has plied these same rails in the past, during the era of N&W (later NS) operation pre-1990.
