| A Farrails/Lerro charter freight leaves Chama heading for Cumbres. I took a picture of a DRGW Cumbres turn from this same location 50 years ago that can be viewed HERE. The biggest change is the loss of the two tree that framed the older image, they were a victim of the new paved highway built in the late 1960's. Also missing are the poles for the old DRGW telephone and telegraph line. But so much remains the same. It is amazing that pictures like this can still be taken 43 years after the DRGW ran their last freight train over Cumbres. |
