The April 20, 1985 Dogwood Arts Festival Special ran from Chattanooga to Knoxville, a distance of approximately 111 miles each way. The power was Southern Ms Class 2-8-2 4501. Southern 4501 was built in 1911 by Baldwin and was the first mikado on the roster. She has 63 inch drivers, 27 x 30 inch cylinders and can produce up to 51638 pounds of tractive effort. This image shows the excursion train leaving Chattanooga on the Southern mainline.
