Remarks & Notes
The incipient sunrise turns clouds on the horizon pink as an empty rake departs West Offaly Power Station, crossing the River Shannon on its way to a peat bog in either Co. Galway or Roscommon. Four or five hours later this 16-car train will return loaded with about 100 tons of peat ready to be burned at the distant power plant to fire its boilers, and then head back out into the bogs for a second load before the driver's shift ends.
