| While Y'all were getting yer steam on in the Midwest and Texas chasing UP 844, not to be outdone, we in the Pacific Northwest had a little steam show of our own. The Friends of SP 4449 operated the Deschutes Steam Special over BNSF rails from Portland to Bend and return. Seen above engineer Doyle McCormack carefully guides the Lima built GS-4 over the Deschutes River at 10 MPH near Sherar, OR. |
