With several headend cars including an RPO, Southern's Train 41 , "Pelican" crosses the Holston River at Bluff City, Tenn. just after being received from the N&W at Bristol. Every-other bridge pier is newer, indicating a newer bridge replaced an older one. FP7s 6149 and 6131 lead the train on to Knoxville, Birmingham and New Orleans on Oct. 12, 1963.
