Remarks & Notes
A peek into the cab of 765 as it departs Attica for Decatur, Illinois and ultimately St. Louis. Seated behind the engineer is Jack Click, who is senior engineer on NS' Lafayette District (Peru to Decatur) and working as a pilot for this trip. When I first saw Jack descending the steps of NS Heritage unit 1072 while the 765 was taking some water, I presumed he was running the 1072. A few minutes later I learned he was riding in the cab of 765! With great envy, I asked him what it's like to ride in the cab of 765? Jack replied, "It's very interesting but noisy and dirty." Jack continued, "This makes me appreciate the quietness, cleanliness and air conditioning of a diesel cab."

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
