| NS 380 has just arrived in Nitro from the north, sporting EMDX 2012 on the point. The 2012 General Motors Locomotive Group (EMDX) SD70ACe is a demonstrator unit that Norfolk Southern tested in mid to late 2011. The railroad later purchased a fleet of EMD SD70ACe's in the 1,050+ numbering system. Due to a delay in the shipment of the new locomotives, an agreement was arranged to allow EMDX 2012 to be used by Norfolk Southern in regular service until the remainder of the locomotives were successfully delivered. |
