Remarks & Notes
Eastbound CSX manifest R302 was rolling down the James River Viaduct in Richmond, VA on Nov. 23, 1996, led by GP40-2 No. 6424. For a period of time in 1996, Kanawha Canal was drained for construction work, giving us a full rear view of the abandoned tugboat that had been there rusting away for years. I have heard from several sources that at one time it was a C&O tug, something I cannot prove.
