| On a clear spring day, iconic Chicago Union Station looms over Jackson Boulevard and Canal Street. Construction began on the current station in 1913 and it officially opened twelve years later on, May 16, 1925 some 86 years before this photo was taken. It now serves more than 3 million passengers annually for both Metra and Amtrak. |
