I was very lucky that time waiting at Larisa station to take the train 601 from Alexandroupoli to Athens. From the station's speakers we hear the announcement of the train arrival in the next two minutes. Suddenly after five minutes I saw many passengers coming from the tracks and the same direction of the arrival of the train and holding their luggage. My first thought was that the locomotive was out of service just out of the station, something was happened to often during that period. Immediately I follow the curved tracks, towards to Thessaloniki and surprised I saw the derailed train. Originally the train was planned to arrive in the second track of the station, but the manually controlled switching point was forgotten turned to the third track. The switchman immediately runs to he's position and turn the crossover very fast, but it was to late. The locomotive was already pass the crossover following the third track and the passenger coaches following the second track. The momentum of the train derail the locomotive and pushed her around. Due to low speed there was no injuries.
