| For rail fans going through Denver, this engine has become somewhat of a landmark in lower downtown, where it has sat gathering rust since colliding with an ethanol tanker truck in July of 2009 (not the crew's fault and no one was seriously hurt). The engine has recently been renumbered as 1651 – formerly known as 6851. It is interesting to see the rust line on the tank, due to the fuel level keeping the lower portion from heating up in the fire. |
