21st Century Steam! SOU 630 passes through the fall foilage as it heads South towards Chattanooga from Knoxville, after spending a couple days running private excursions for the Lexington Group. This was a public excursion from Knoxville to Chattanooga that was unfortunately delayed time after time en route until finally South of Athens, the dispatcher made the call for SOU 630 to be taken off and power from the Cleveland Local brought up to finally bring the passenger coaches to Chattanooga. This was my first time ever witnessing real, live steam, and this was ultimately an unforgettable experience!
