Three CEFX "Blue Birds" and a "Grey Ghost" charge up the hill at Newfoundland with the SU99A. This is the first revenue train to run west to Binghampton, NY after Hurricane Irene passed through the northeast.
The storm had shut down the NYSW for a few days. Because of the large amount of cars that became stranded in Little Ferry, a second half of the train (known as SU99B) was sent out behind this specifically to serve Sparta JCT. |
