Remarks & Notes
The dual mode class unit, AMTK 700, has just arrived from New York City with Train 49, the Lake Shore Limited. Ground crews are in the process of cutting off the dual mode and adding the Boston cars plus two P42's. On this day the Boston Section did not run and the cars had been stored in Albany since the previous day. The Boston cars come off at Albany regardless if the Boston section is cancelled or not. The Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak station is the large building on the right. This building opened in September 2002 and is Amtrak's 9th busiest.

Once home to Delaware & Hudson's corporate headquarters, today Albany is home to Amtrak's Maple Leaf, Adirondack and NY Regional Trains. This album is a behind the scenes tour of the complex. Thanks to all photographers who contributed to this album.
