Remarks & Notes
Purr-fect Transportation Thirty-nine years later, Chessie can still be found sleeping on her pillow. This pop art style of logo was the brainchild of Franklyn Carr in 1972 by combining a silhouette of C&O’s corporate feline into a large “C”. Unveiled to the public in Cleveland, this logo would become one of the most recognizable logos in railroad history.
