| A branch used to run from Carbo for several miles north. It started as an CRR line accessed by trackage rights over N&W. N&W acquired the line but in recent years it was not operated north of the huge Moss #3 prep plant. With the closing of that operation Carbo is just a yard in the middle of nowhere on the tail of a wye, but surprisingly fairly busy. There's a little car shop and MofW activity as well. Here a mine run is bringing empties in for the night with some borrowed power. |
