| Southern Serves the South More than just a slogan; this was how the Southern Railway operated. From modifying cars to meet customer needs, or becoming the first railroad to introduce unit trains Southern was always at the forefront of innovative railroading. This slogan first began appearing on boxcars in the early 60s on the right hand side of the boxcar and would be a part of that railroad's boxcar paint scheme up until the 1983. Other notable Southern slogans were “Gives a Green Light to Innovation” or “Super Cushion Service”. |
