| Heber Valley's former Great Western 2-8-0 #75 had the honors this day in September of 2001. Today she is under restoration with hopes to get her ready very soon now that Heber's former UP #618 has reached her 15-year /1472 day rebuild mandate. When the work is done, her smoke box will be shortened back to it's "as built by Baldwin" length. Sister engine #60 survives in Ringoes, NJ and may operate this summer. GW 75, a 2-10-0 also survives and can be seen operating at the Strasburg Railroad in PA. |
