| The hay is ready to be mowed as Soo 212A,742,214A head 911 and 90 cars west. The thing that really sticks in my mind about Soo F's was that they ALWAYS seemed to be leading trains through my hometown of Trout Lake when I was a kid and had no access to a camera. Then as I got older and started shooting pictures they had fallen from grace and second generation hoods were the preferred leaders. It was then quite a chore to catch F-unit leaders. Thankfully Soo chose not to install nose MU hook ups on the old F's so sights like this was possible if two A's were in a consist until the end of covered wagon operations in early 1980. |
