Remarks & Notes
The Napa Valley Wine Train is operated by the Napa Valley Railroad and runs between Napa and St. Helena, Ca., a distance of about 36 miles round trip. The route generally parallels California State Route 29 for much of the route. The line utilizes ex-Canadian National MLW FPA-4 locomotives for power with extensively modified ex-Ski Train coaches for passenger accommodations. After arriving at St. Helena, the crew prepares to cut off the locomotives and run around the train.
