Remarks & Notes
Amid plenty of new snow, Union Pacific's Skyline, UT to Barstow, CA coal load descends Soldier Summit at CP RG677 Rio, Utah. A trio of manned helpers are cut into the train to assist with air & dynamic braking on this frigid 15 degree afternoon. The lead motor, UP 6956, is a GE AC6000CW, built the UP 7567 in November of 2000. The Union Pacific utilizes a ballast regulator to remove snow along the Provo Sub and evidence of that is visible along the right of way.
