A rare combination between one of the first ten locomotives delivered from ASEA Sweden between 1965 and 1967 to CFR, and the first electrified railtrack at 27 Kv/50Hz. The section between Brasov and Predeal was electrified between 1960 and 1963 by the cooperation of Transelektroproekt from Soviet Union and Antrepriza Santiere I.F.T.E. Brasov. The first electrification pole is still working in Predeal station at the first platform.
The engine was manufactured by ASEA Sweden in august 1966 and delivered in Romania in the same year.From the beginning her service was to pull freight trains,even if during the 90's she made also passenger service for a while.
So many years passed by and this engine is still making good service in her initially native place, deliverig thousands tons of cargo every day. Excepting the 060-EA-001, destroyed in an accident between Brasov and Sighisoara, at august 20 1990, the rest of it's 8 sisters are working today in different forms, but only this is keeping almost integrally the original look.
The photo is taken between Timisu de Jos and Timisu de sus while she was a rescue engine, moving to Predeal. Also the electrification pole in the picture is one of the original one mounted in 1963.
