Six engines, DPU'd in a 2x3x1 arrangement, work up the 0.8% grade along the Colorado River with coal loads off the North Fork Branch. In the foreground, the trailing unit is shoving the last handful of cars into Tunnel 39 at the entrance to Little Gore Canyon, while in the distance the head end approaches the west end of Azure siding. Two miles ahead lies the famous, immense chasm of Gore Canyon.
