As I did last year, I highly recommend to any one considering it to visit the Copper Basin. Not only are they a busy, good looking shortline, but they are also by far the friendliest operation out there. A quick check into the offices and I had permission to check out the yard and a full run down of the day's operations. To top things off, the railroad's president - Jake Jacobson - is one of the nicest people I've ever met, in or out of railfanning. Not only did he personally give me some print outs on the line's history, every time he saw my car throughout the day, he stopped and asked how his railroad was treating me.
