| UP Challenger 3895, the King of Steam has arrived at Oakland after hauling several hundred railfans up from Milpitas. It arrived at 10 am but the light is already unfavorable. Thanks to the National Railway Historical Society and news coverage a huge crowd showed up to see it. I rode behind 3895 on one of the scheduled convention trips. The fans that took one of the two equipment-positioning trips into or out of Cheyenne had the most fun. |
