Some things never change... and back in 1981, Reading 2124 was looking about as weather worn as she looked just a year ago. Still, a grand locomotive, and captured here by my father on one of his visits to F. Nelson Blount's Steamtown in Vermont. 2124 is best known as "the Queen of the Iron Horse Rambles." Built in 1947. when my dad wasn't yet a teen, she remained one of his favorite locomotives his whole life. The old Steamtown was probably the only railroad museum that he would plan special trips to go visit.
