| WC was on borrowed time when I shot this westbound empty ore train with a head end fill of logs and a few cars of paper west of Gilchrist. The WC's charismatic Ex President Ed Burkhardt had been unceremoniously sacked late in 1999 and the ratty condition of the power reflected the austerity policy's of the team that replaced him and ultimately sold the railroad to CN. Politics aside the 6556 and 2059 still present a fine sight as they work OACTI west. |
