| 6117 sits at NW's Chicago 95th st. yard. Note the long hood forward designation. NW only received eleven high short hood versions of this model as they opted for the cheaper low nose as a cost cutting measure. NW's final order of SD40-2's had a snow plow mounted on the low nose end and that order also had the low nose end designated as front. |
