Soo 6049,6020,CP5908,5551,5522,5502 lead train 428 uphill away from the Mississippi River valley at Medary. The trailing three CP SD40's were shut down and I was told by the crew they were headed for service on the DM&E. It made little sense at the time as they were headed in the wrong direction and I never really checked back to see where they went. In any case the six units made a fine sight.
