Big Berk, Little Berk? Your eyes play tricks with your mind in this down-the-throat tele-smash of the world's two remaining operable Berkshire Locomotives. The PM 1225 appears for all the world to be larger in every dimension than sister locomotive NKP 765, although the two are actually almost identical in design. In this shot, the 765 rides on a track that is slightly lower in elevation, and she's nearly a full chassis length behind the 1225. The long telephoto compresses the depth-of-field and the resulting picture is pretty darn convincing!
Images from two Lerro Productions events, 10 years apart: 2009 and 2019. The 2009 featured a 31-car freight and NKP 765. The 2019 trip showcased just the 1225 with the Steam Railroading Institute's passenger consist.
