A Little Hell
One of the most famous bridges of the Lima to La Oroya line is the Infiernillo - Little Hell - Bridge, located in a narrow canyon between two tunnels. The remains of older road bridges are a testimony to the harshness of the place.
It's been a challenge for me to find marks in the picture that would help make it "horizon level": the track and road have steep grades - more than 4% for the railroad and almost everything is tilting, including the trestle. |
