As seen from IL. Rte. 40, the eastbound TOFC/COFC from Denver nears Buda led by a whiteface GP50, crossing over the CNW's SI line in the distance. The Mendota sub didn't see much TOFC traffic in pre-BNSF days, most freight trains carried bulk commodities or manifest; nor does it under BNSF. The Denver-Chi pair, I think symboled #65/66, were exceptions at the time. The GP50's were BN's choice for powering these trains, in this scheme and the preceeding tiger-striped nose.
