Remarks & Notes
The quarry train returns to Plaster City about an hour later than expected. The water tank on the rear of the train is in the background. This is the last industrial narrow gauge railway in the United States. The 3 ft gauge line runs north for 20.5 miles from the plant at Plaster City to a gypsum quarry. The train hauls that gypsum rock from the quarry to the plant. The engine was built for White Pass & Yukon as part of an order of four units in 1982. Never delivered due to the WP&Y closure, it was picked up by US Gypsum, and is one of two DL535Es (RSD35) that they roster.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
