DM&IR 227 is the best preserved of the three Missabe Yellowstones, thanks to the efforts of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum and members of the Missabe Railroad Historical Society. The Society frequently holds cleaning days to wipe the dust and cobwebs from this and the museum's other DM&IR artifacts, keeping them looking sharp! The lights come on, and the wheels slowly revolve (with recorded sounds of 227 in service) every twenty minutes.
