A near full moon watches over the vintage St. Albans C&O Depot. The Depot is home to a small museum and occasionally hosts open houses. During the annual New River Train excursions, the depot is opened for passengers waiting to board the scenic train. As for the exposure, this is a blend of two images. First, a 2" exposure of the depot which is well illuminated by a nearby street light. Then, a 1/640" exposure to properly expose the moon. The focal point was adjusted to receive crisp detail in the moon.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
