The 1975 Memorial Day holiday found me wandering around the Cumberland, Maryland area and searching for trains, but none were to found! I decided to cross the border and see what was happening over at the Western Maryland in Ridgeley. What I discovered was an engine terminal full of dead locomotives. I searched for someone who might grant me, at the very least, verbal permission to take some photos and much to my surprise, there wasn't one soul to be found! I parked my trusty old '68 Dodge Dart in a safe place, grabbed my Argus C3 and had a field day "memorializing" WM power at the Ridgeley engine facility. Just in case anyone is wondering what the price of diesel fuel is on the sign immediately to the right of 7434, it reads 10.6 cents per gallon! I never could find the average price of diesel fuel in 1975, but remembering how much gasoline increased in the mid '70s, I think it's safe to say the sign was a tad bit out of date...
Thanks for viewing This album contains all kinds of western Maryland pictures Note I'm always trying to add some new photos to this album So hopefully the next time you visit there should be some new stuff
