| The low, southerly angle of the winter sunset emphasizes the gently rolling hills surrounding Lynchburg, and contrasts them with the more impressive peaks of the Blue Ridge in the distance. A northbound manifest is almost an afterthought in the landscape which sees dozens of trains per day. |
