Remarks & Notes
Santa Fe's combined El Capitan/Super Chief rolls out of Lamy behind FP45u's #103 and #102, looking like someone was in a hurry to get this train out of Los Angeles - note the silver paint overspray on the pilot and anticlimber, and the mis-placed transition/baggage car in the consist! The Santa Fe's warbonnet paint scheme on passenger diesel locomotives was one of the most iconic in railroading. It appealed to travelers and modellers alike, and helped brand Santa Fe all the way from Chicago to California and Texas.
