As is often the case, the weather on Mount Washington was a challenge this day. I hiked all the way from the summit to Marshfield Station battling fog, wind, cold and even a thunderstorm with hail along the way. With the trips done for the day and the place pretty much deserted, wouldn't you know it....the sun came out and beautifully illuminated a scene that pretty much sums up the Cog Railway experience: A very unique and incredible little train and the mountain it was built to conquer, both resting peacefully in the afternoon sun. Regardless of what the future holds for this place, this image is how I will always remember it.
