Few steam tourist lines enjoy beautiful waterfront views along their entire length. Such is the case with the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Co. & Museum. The line's 1.5 mile track follows the old Grand Trunk ROW on the east side of Portland and features views of the city's harbor and Casco Bay. In this view, a late afternoon train passes the boat launch and beach complex at Cutter Street, to the delight of the patrons at a local hot dog stand. On point is Monson #4, running in reverse with a restored Sandy River and Rangely Lakes Caboose immediately behind. Rounding out the consist are an open excursion car and a replica combine, both built in the 1960s at Edaville Railroad in Massachusetts.
