| Of course they may be more beautiful panoramas on the planet than this vista from a moorland hillside above Darnholm. I'm just not sure that anyone has found one with a steam railway! The distant bleating of newborn lambs is briefly disturbed by the passing of a brand new, apple green Pacific. 'Tornado' is climbing sure-footedly up the 1 in 49 gradient, heading for Goathland. The sweet vanilla-scented gorse bushes made this hillside a wonderful place to wait for Britain's newest icon of the steam era. |
