1984 LOUISIANA WORLD'S FAIR DAYLIGHT. The Union Station clock tower shows 6:44AM as SP 4449 and its 13-car all Daylight consist sit unattended waiting for its departure to New Orleans, LA and the 1984 Louisiana World's Fair. SP 4449 is displaying the number "9" in its train indicator board for Train No. 9 the southbound Shasta Daylight for the leg from Portland, OR to Sacramento, CA. At this time, SP 4449's tender was lettered with the large 1946 SP common standard 20" Roman "SOUTHERN PACIFIC" lettering in the orange band in the middle of the tender.
