| Remarks & Notes |
| A sense of scale! Nearly 46 miles distant from the Starlight's path, Mt. Rainier dominates the scene. The train is merely a Z scale model in comparison. Anderson Island provided this uncommon vantage point for the BNSF Seattle sub just south of Steilacoom. For a real sense of scale, consider this: If this was a Z scale model, the scene would barely fit in a 7 story tall building. And while this scene implies a certain degree of wilderness, lying between the forest and the volcano, is Interstate 5, a couple of rail lines, a couple more major highways, an airplane factory, an army base, an air force base, and perhaps a population of 75,000 people. |
