Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific's Friday only 'Potash Turn' curves westward at the Hwy. 193 overpass between abandoned Arch siding and Seven Mile. Deep red sandstone formations along the outskirts of the Fiery Furnace area of Arches National Park are visible at upper right. New ties and ballast are in place to rebuild the Cane Creek Subdivision into a conveyor of uranium mine tailings. SD60M 2429 is decked out in contemporary UP livery including nose wings and lightning stripe paint. This vintage 'comfort cab' EMD was built in November 1991 as the UP 6274.
